One of the leaders in the chemical industry is looking for a Sample Lab Technician to join their team in Tarrytown, NY.
As a member of the Communications Team, you will act as a direct resource in support of our applied sample and tradeshow programs by creating necessary product samples. You will play primary role in maintaining applied sample inventory to support sales growth.

Knowledge and Experience

Previous experience in the construction industry preferred. High school diploma or equivalent.

The primary qualification for this position is the attitude, ability and desire to help ensure that the Communications Team consistently meets or exceed our customer’s expectations for applied samples. This begins with the professionalism and enthusiasm and continues with the accuracy and timeliness of our service and product. It includes the ability to build relationships with internal and external customers.

Incumbent must have strong problem solving skills, pay attention to detail, and the ability to work well with a variety of people. Working knowledge of power tools. Safety must be top priority. Standing, sitting, lifting and carrying for an extended period of time necessary. Must be able to lift 75 pounds.

Principal Responsibilities

• Efficiently create high quantity of applied samples that properly represent products and product lines to the customer.
• Work directly with Marketing and Sales teams to conceptualize industry leading applied samples.
• Interface with Marketing and Sales to fulfill all special sample requests, meeting the defined tight deadlines.
• Manage inventory levels of applied samples, assuring availability upon demand.
• Produce large scale applied samples in support of tradeshow program.
• Responsible for following all safety procedures.
• Must constantly maintain clean work environment.
• Must support Human Resources by serving as light building maintenance.
• Serve as backup in mailroom/loading dock area.
• Attend to special projects as assigned by the Communication Manager.
• Wear necessary safety equipment and follow company established Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain good attendance record and report to assigned job station in a timely manner.
• Follow all appropriate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies.
• Wears prescribed Personal Protective Equipment and ensures that prescribed safeguards are properly used.
• Notifies his/her supervisor before undertaking a work activity in which he/she is not adequately trained.
• Immediately reports unsafe acts or conditions to his/her supervisor and takes immediate interim steps to protect himself/herself and others from serious risk.
• Understands that Safety and Environmental responsibility is a major part of the company Vision and Guiding Principles. Must report all unsafe conditions and accidents immediately to appropriate manager. Responsible for the safety of themselves and others.
• Must understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and other ISO regulations, procedures and processes as they pertain to job responsibilities.
Experience should include:
Experience working in food preparing, knowledge of GMP practices, and comfort with a lab setting is desired.
We would take someone currently in school or recently graduated.

• Mix and package 500+ beverage samples for trade.
• Prepare nutrition bars from formulation, including baking, cutting, and packaging.
• Print and label all samples.
• Clean and maintain lab setting. Clean all dishes and utensils as well as work space.
• Operate commercial scale oven.
• Exposure to nuts and other allergens may occur.

Skills required:
• Knowledge of GMP practices, quality and food safety.
• Experience in chemistry lab. • Knowledge of baking and food preparing skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Prefer someone with a Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in bachelor’s program.

The work schedule is flexible, looking for someone to work about 30 hours a week Monday-Thursday.
